Hi, I’m Meli, and I am originally from France. I moved to the UK in 2007 as part of a university exchange programme and worked in the tourism industry for a while, until a first gig as a volunteer at the Sundance London Film and Music Festival sparked a “Eureka” moment, and the rest is somewhat history. I’ve now worked in the film exhibition industry for over a decade, across marketing and publicity, programming, event management, festivals and more recently subtitling.

I worked for eight years at Broadway Cinema in Nottingham in marketing and programming, before moving to Warwick Arts Centre where I oversaw the development, curation and delivery of the film programme for their three-screen cinema for the first 18 months of their re-opening. For the last decade, I’ve been working with Mayhem Film Festival as a programmer and producer. I’ve also continued to work with the Sundance Institute on a volunteer and freelance basis, in industry relations and programming. And in 2020, I began to work with Matchbox Cineclub on subtitling and have since worked with different clients to deliver access materials.

I am absolutely passionate about film and never tire of learning more and more about the medium, the industry and the people who make it all happen. I’m interested in the many stories and voices that the industry is home to, and I love being a part of bringing those to audiences. My happy place is a busy, fast-paced, adrenaline-fuelled festival environment. Nothing makes me happier than spending months planning an event to eventually see it all come to life and people gathering to spend a few days together and share their passion with friends, peers and perfect strangers.

I’m currently open to freelance work so do feel free to say hello by using the form below.
